Hello, Friends!

I am a writer of picture books. A someday award-winning author. I'm a wanderer and wonderer at heart. I love exploring new trails with my wife and pup (the cats do not attend these outings), reading to escape into another world or to learn about this one, and watching too much TV. I'm currently a writer and children's librarian, but I've also been a camp counselor, barista, hair stylist, and mail carrier. I do not believe in choosing one thing to be when I grow up.

My goal is to annoy my lovely library clerk friends by publishing so many books, they take up entire shelves of space and need to be shelved and reshelved constantly with all the check-outs they get ;)

I am an active member of SCBWI and Julie Hedlund's 12x12 Challenge, a graduate of Anderson University and the Institute for Children's Literature's Writing for Children course.

My favorite books are usually the ones I just read, but here are a few super favorites! (in no particular order):

Kid Lit: The Queen in the Cave, by Juila Sarda; If You Ever Want to Bring A Piano to the Beach, Don't!, by Elise Parsley; The Fate of Fausto, by Oliver Jeffers; Spoon, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal & Scott Magoon; Moon Pops, by Heena Baek; Circle, Triangle, Elephant!: A Book of Shapes & Surprises, by Mayuko Takeuchi and Meagan Bennett; The Elephant's Child, by Rudyard Kipling & Tim Raglin; The Giggler Treatment, by Roddy Doyle; The House at Pooh Corner, by A.A. Milne; The Inheritance Cycle, by Christopher Paolini; Fortunately, the Milk, by Neil Gaiman; This Was Our Pact, by Ryan Andrews; Tiffany Aching Series, by Terry Pratchett...

Regardless, let's make this February a month of first drafts!

February is always rough for me, so I'm trying to make it as fun as possible.

Why not have another month-long, low-stakes challenge to make things more interesting? (And also trick myself...
